Loch Lomond Shores Community Fund gives £4000 to local charities and organisations
In July, we announced a new Loch Lomond Shores Community Fund that would give 10 local charities and organisations £250 each.
After receiving over 40 applications for funding, we’ve increased the fund to £4000, meaning 16 organisations were successful in our first round!
While this means we cannot fund everyone who applied, it also means 16 local organisations will receive £250, which will hopefully make a difference for some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
It’s been a very difficult process to decide on the successful applications, as everyone who applied is worthy of funding and deserves support. However, we have finally agreed on those successful candidates who will receive £250 each from the Loch Lomond Shores Community Fund in 2026.
These organisations are as follows:
- West Dunbartonshire Amateur Swim Club
- St Mary’s Primary, Alexandria
- Basic & Corner House Nursery, Helensburgh
- Patchwork Ponies CIC, Milton
- Balloch Castle Country Park Regeneration Group
- Haldane Youth Services
- Skylark 1X recovery trust, Dumbarton
- Dumbarton District Disabled Children’s Forum
- Loch Lomond Rescue Boat
- Arthritis Club, Renton
- Stepping Stones, Clydebank
- Friends of Loch Lomond
- Renton Veterans Bowling Club
- Helensburgh & Lomond Foodbank
- Lomond Community Pantry
- Flutterby FUNdraisers, Dumbarton
Speaking about the Loch Lomond Shores Community Fund, Audrey Calder from Loch Lomond Shores said:
It has been a very difficult process to select sixteen local charities and organisations as recipients of £250 funding, as all those who applied deserve their hard work to be supported.
However, we are delighted that we were able to fund sixteen instead of the original ten, and very much hope that the Loch Lomond Shores Community Fund can become an annual one and that we are able to grow it to benefit even more worthwhile local causes going forward.
We’d also like to take this opportunity to recognise and thank all those who do amazing work within local communities and make a big difference to people’s lives all year long – you truly are remarkable and embody community spirit.
