Loch Lomond Shores announces night-time festive shopping fun!

On Thursday 23rd November and Thursday 7th of December, Loch Lomond Shores is opening its doors until 8pm to welcome shoppers looking for some Christmas inspiration as well as hosting a night market, offering family Christmas photography sessions and a prize draw on the nights to win £200 to spend at Loch Lomond Shores.

Most of our stores – including Sports Direct, Frasers, Catherine Kinloch and Hawkshead, Keepsakes, Tweeds of Scotland, Leading Labels and more will be on hand to welcome you and help pick up the perfect gifts.
And for those who visit our mall stores, there’s the chance to enter our exclusive late-night prize draw.  Enter within Leading Labels – just complete the brief form at their cash desk – for your chance to win £200 to spend at Loch Lomond Shores! 

The prize draw will be open from 3pm to 8pm, with the winner being contacted the following day.
For families, we also have the opportunity for you to get some fantastic Christmas photography done by photographer Margaret Ann McKenna of MM Photography, who will be bringing her fabulous backdrop to our mall, so you can make some special festive memories!  Margaret will be taking bookings from 3pm, with sessions costing from £45 for 5 digital images.  Sessions will take around 20 minutes.  We recommend you book to avoid disappointment on Margaret Ann’s Facebook Page, where you can also see some of Margaret’s work.

Along with our stores, Café Zest will be open until 7.30pm while Jurassic Grill will be open until 9pm (last bookings at 7.30pm) to provide delicious snacks, meals, cocktails and desserts to make sure you can enjoy a break from shopping.

NIGHT MARKETS

We’ll also have a night market from 3pm to 8pm located beside Sports Direct with stalls including Two Towns Down craft beer, MJ Bakes Glasgow – with their cakes and bakes, and The Mindful Medium offering tarot and psychic readings as well as stalls featuring great ideas for gifts.  Street food will include the popular I Love Gyros, The Dessert Box and The Crumbologist – Scotland’s No 1 crumble bar so you can eat as you browse the market.

And, just to make sure you’re really in the festive mood, all our Christmas lights and decorations will be shining brightly, and buskers will be performing – all providing the perfect backdrop for some chilled Christmas shopping.

Top Dogs Event - 14th oct '23

We have a busy few weeks head this autumn at Loch Lomond Shores!

Sat 14th October – Top Dogs Event

Top Dogs is full of dog-friendly fun and information including competitions, training advice, doggy massages, groomers, pet photography, doggie market, canine nutritionist and, for the humans, street food.   Registration for competitions is from 10am to 12pm with competitions taking place in the afternoon.

Sun 15th October – Sunday Market Day

Loch Lomond Shores Market is back from 10am to 4pm with a great range of stalls featuring everything from artisan gifts to delicious fresh produce, as well as street food.

Also, daily from 14th October you can enjoy all these great activities and experiences below:

Sealife Ascarium
  • SEA LIFE Loch Lomond has its Ascarium event taking place from the 14th with all its spooky goings on and activities. Find out more and book at https://www.visitsealife.com/loch-lomond/explore/events/ascarium/
  • While it might be getting cooler, you can still have fun on Loch Lomond with Loch Lomond Leisure. Choose from SUP, pedal boats, canoes, boat tours, speedboat rides and more. Or, if you’d prefer, hire a bike and go explore the wider area. You can check out what’s on offer and book at https://lochlomond-scotland.com/location/loch-lomond-shores-balloch-g83-8ql/.
  • Treezone is open all week for an amazing family adventure. You can book at https://iye.scot/treezone-loch-lomond/ to make sure you don’t miss out.
  • Visit Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre, located halfway down the car parks on the main path. Find out more and see a huge array of eagles, owls, falcons, kestrels, and hawks. Flying shows take place daily at 11.30am and 2pm and no need to book; just turn up. The centre is open from 10am to 4pm daily.
  • Jurassic Grill will be open from 9.30am for breakfast on Mondays to Fridays and 9am on weekends with breakfast available every day until 11.30am. Their main menu is available from 11.30am until 9pm each day (last bookings are at 7.30pm). Make sure to book to avoid disappointment at https://www.jurassicgrill.co.uk/.
  • Our Adventure Golf will be from 11am to 5pm with no need to book.
  • We’ll also have children’s rides on site from 14th to 22nd October, near the playpark and SEA LIFE. These will be open from 11am to 5pm.
As well as all these fun family activities, we also have our woodland walks, playpark and beaches for outdoor autumn fun and all our stores, with their new stock arriving daily, so you can combine family fun and some retail fun.
And last, but by no means least, our other cafes – Café Zest and Caffe at the Shores – who have just launched a new menu (visit our website to view the full menu) as well as the Churros Box, will make sure that everyone gets enough fuel for their family day out!

With FREE celebrity chef cooking demos all weekend!

This year’s FREE festival is playing host to two of Scotland’s own celebrity chefs – Tony Singh and Rohan Wadke, who will inspire visitors with their FREE cooking demonstrations.  Along with Tony and Rohan’s demonstrations, there will also be whisky & gin tastings courtesy of Loch Lomond Whiskies, lots of amazing producers, street food from around the world, cooking classes and live entertainment.

Rohan, Master Chef UK 2016 & Cameron House Chef is always popular with festival goers and will be hosting FREE cooking demonstrations on Saturday 2nd, that will focus on sustainability & understanding a new era in the food industry.

Tickets for our hugely popular whisky & gin tasting sessions with Loch Lomond Whiskies and Ben Lomond Gin, are now on sale and offer whisky and gin lovers the perfect opportunity to sample some stunning whisky and gin with expert guidance.  Tickets for both sessions can be booked directly on Eventbrite – the ONLY paid tickets required during the festival weekend – with all profits going to Clyde 1’s Cash For Kids Appeal.

With cooking classes to be announced soon, as well as a whole host of amazing world street food to sample and lots of vendors selling fresh and packaged artisan food to take home and enjoy, it’s the perfect day out for foodies.

As well as all our amazing food and drink-related activity, we also have Lomond Radio entertaining everyone all weekend long as well as a selection of very talented buskers around the site!

And, while we’re ‘food-tastic’ this festival, we haven’t forgotten families with children’s rides, stilt walkers and fun mascots added to our playpark, SEA LIFE centre, Treezone, Bird of Prey Centre and water sports and boat hire so everyone can have a great day out – whether they’re 5 or 95!

The Ultimate UCI Cycling World Championships is coming to Balloch!

The World’s best cyclists are gearing up to compete for the ultimate glory in the UCI Cycling World Championships. The Loch Lomond to Glasgow races take place next weekend, on Sat 12th and Sun 13th August. The event is expected to attract thousands of cyclists and spectators from around the world, making it a grand celebration of cycling. However, to ensure the safety and smooth functioning of the event, there will be some road closures in and around the route between Balloch and Glasgow.

You can spend the day exploring the Mall, which features a wide range of shops selling everything from homewares to fashion.
